Practice Manager, Healthcare Operations



The Practice Manager provides business operations and administrative support to multiple provider teams. Deals with a diverse group of external customers and highly confidential and time-sensitive information.  Works both independently and as part of the team with direct accountability to the Market Director in close collaboration with the supported provider team.


  • Manages complex schedule in collaboration with team clinical assistant with modifications based on team structure, new and existing buildings, patient growth and new providers joining the team.  This schedule must be closely coordinated among team providers, community staff and patients and families.  Schedule management is one of the most important functions in determining successful teams.
  • Monitors team operational and financial performance through performance dashboards and works with Market Director and teams on any plans for remediation or improvement.
  • Account management of 50-75 communities where teams’ patients reside. In coordination with Community Liaison and provider teams, build strong relationships, coordinates on-going training and educational sessions and promotes Bluestone services within their buildings, as well as with related service partners in those communities (e.g. home care, hospice, pharmacies).
  • Marketing to new families and patients in the service communities to fill the team’s panel as well as assisting with the acquisition of new communities in the team’s service area. 
  • Is an expert in Bluestone technology (EMR, Bluestone Bridge, etc.) and communication platforms and hardware (mobile devices and apps, software), and assists others on the team to develop competence when communicating with internal and external stakeholders and using equipment to update electronic medical records and other databases as appropriate.
  • Mediates and resolves any service issues with team service communities/facilities.
  • Answers team phone. Takes messages or fields/answers routine and non-routine questions.

  • BA  or equivalent work related experience (business discipline preferred)
  • 3 or more years of experience working in the medical field interacting with healthcare providers in an professional manner
  • Proven experience working in a client facing, marketing and/or community relations environment
  • Ability to understanding and leverage financial and operational metrics - to translate data into process improvements

Working Conditions

  • Work Environment -This job operates in a professional office environment and in residential communities. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
  • Physical Demands - This is primarily a sedentary role working indoors; however, some walking is required. The position would require the ability to frequently lift up to 30 pounds and bend or stand as necessary. 
  • Travel – Daily local travel is required for this position.
