Position Overview:

Bluestone Physician Services is seeking a Data Analyst: Value-Based Care to contribute to  Bluesetone’s analytics initiatives. This role will support the analytical capability by assisting in the maintenance of existing systems, performing standardized processes, and executing analytical work to support strategic influence and operational excellence.

Schedule: Full time position, regular business hours Monday thru Friday.

Location: This position will be a work from home position, and may come in-office located in downtown Stillwater, MN as requested.

Salary: $74,000 - $94,000 annually. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of analytical systems, standardized reporting, and data products to deliver VBC and operational insights.
  • Support efforts to streamline and document repetitive analytical work to maximize data efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with clinical, operational, and executive teams to understand reporting needs and assist in the development of reporting frameworks that support strategic organizational initiatives.
  • Perform hands-on analysis, including creating custom queries, dashboards, and reports related to program intelligence and operations, HCC risk adjustment, quality measure gaps, claims analysis.
  • The analyst will work under the guidance of the senior analysts and development team in order to contribute to the development and maintenance of advanced analytics models using tools like SQL and LookerML to deliver insights that improve clinical and operational performance within a fee-for-service and value-based care context .
  • Ensure timely execution and delivery of assigned analytics solutions to guide decision-making processes in value-based care, finance, and clinical operations.
  • Stay informed of regulatory changes affecting healthcare data reporting and ensure compliance with relevant guidelines (e.g., CMS, HIPAA), focusing on those impacting HCC coding, quality measures (e.g., STARS, HEDIS), and claims submissions.
  • Integrate claims and EHR data to identify trends, cost drivers, and opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements within value-based care models.
  • Develop reporting and internal performance benchmarks related to key organizational initiatives such as value-based care and care model delivery. 

Qualifications:

Education/Certification/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, healthcare administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in data analytics, with significant experience in value-based care analytics, ideally within a healthcare or primary care setting.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Proficiency with SQL for querying and managing large datasets. Familiarity with LookerML for building data models is a plus.
  • Expertise in business intelligence tools like Looker, Tableau, or Power BI for creating dashboards and generating actionable insights from healthcare data, with a focus on value-based care metrics.
  • Hands-on experience building analytical models from data imported from healthcare clinical and administrative systems (e.g., EHR, claims), specifically for value-based care applications.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with data analysts and technical leaders while staying hands-on with technical work related to assigned projects.
  • Understanding of data integration and reporting methodologies in healthcare, particularly for value-based care contracts.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Familiarity with data and reporting requirements for value-based care contracts
  • Preferred: Experience applying Lean Six Sigma principles (e.g., DMAIC methodology, Value Stream Mapping, Root Cause Analysis (RCA)) to analytical workflow optimization, process standardization, and reducing variability in data reporting
